Best of the Western Catskills Retreat

Accommodations include a cozy two bedroom apartment, outfitted with queen sized beds, a master suite that overlooks the river, and 22 foot tipi, with twin beds, electricity, an outdoor bathroom and filtered rain water shower.
After settling in guests are welcome to rest in lounge chairs along the river, swim, use our inner tubes and floating devices, eat fresh wild apples from our apple tree, relax and enjoy the property and view, before dinner. At 6pm an all organic gourmet, healthy, farm to table dinner will be served, overlooking the river and mountains. This location is a praised for its impressive bird watching fortuitous. Frequent flyers include the bald eagle, osprey, many verities of hawk, and the great blue heron. After dinner, guests are again welcome to relax and enjoy the property. At 7:30 we will have a bonfire, and as night falls, the sky fills with stars.

On Saturday morning, at 7 am, tea will be served followed by meditation instruction, where guests will be encouraged to choose mantras uniquely suited to their current goals, and or life challenges. At 8 am green juice and a light organic farm to table breakfast will be served. All dietary restrictions will be accommodated at every meal. At 9 am we will set out for the hour long drive along the Delaware River to Long Eddy, New York, to hike the Bouchoux trail to the top of the Jensen’s Ledges. Guests are welcome to remain on site, at Eagle Watch Manor, and enjoy the property if they do not wish to go along for the hike. This hike is perfect for beginner to intermediate hikers. It has a gradual and steady inclination and is just over two miles to the top. The Delaware River Valley was formed by glacier, and this little known hike, has some of the best views of the valley, Delaware river, and entire area. An optional 20 minute Pilates class, and five minute guided meditation will be offered at the summit. As an alternative to the Pilates class, guests may enjoy the views of the valley, and scenic waterfall. Packed lunches will be served, created from the areas finest local farms. After enjoying the views, movement class, and rock formations at Jensen’s Ledges we will begin our journey back to Eagle Watch Manor, at 2pm. Along the way, we will stop in Narrowsburg, New York, featured as a place of interest in Architectural Digest, Time Out Magazine, and Escape Brooklyn. In Narrowsburg guests can experience quaint shops, including former Vogue editor, Anna Bern’s the Nest, views of the river. We will arrive back at Eagle watch Manor at 5pm, at this time guests will have time to take a converse, enjoy the views, shower, or take care of personal matters before dinner.
At 6pm a healthy feast will be served, of farm to table food, sourced locally, here in the Delaware River Valley. Dinner will be followed by another bonfire, and optional Chakra Dance class. For those guests who prefer not to take the dance class, therapeutic massage, facials, and healing work will be available from licensed local professionals. These sessions must be purchased separately and booked in advance. After the Chakra Dance class, organic vegan marshmallows, gram crackers, and chocolate will be provided for s’more making, an in season fruit crumble will also be served.

At 7 am, on Sunday morning, tea and meditation will be offered, followed by green juice, and light breakfast at 8am. At 8:45 am, we will drive north along the Delaware river, to Barryvile, New York, where we will begin our Floating the River excursion. Rapids are minimal along this stretch of the river, this experience is safe and appropriate for any guest, with any level of experience. This rafting experience along the Delaware river is gorgeous, some attractions that may be seen include bald eagles, blue heron, deer, bears, linx, foxes, and bobcats, all at a safe distance. We will stop mid way on our trip to enjoy a healthy lunch, again from the areas finest local farms, and to explore the Delaware and Hudson canal, built in the 19th century, to transport coal and lumber from norther states, down to the Hudson River and into New York City. The sense of history in these old canals is striking, as they were built by hand, and remain in tact to this day.
We will arrive, by river at Eagle Watch Manor at 2pm, where a 90 minute Pilates class and guided meditation will be offered. For guests that do not wish to attend the Pilates class and meditation, facials, therapeutic massage, and healing work will be available. All appointments must be booked in advance, and are subject to additional charges. At 5 pm a early, organic, farm to table dinner will be served, featuring the areas finest foods, overlooking the river, mountains and wildlife.
